How we are working so SheDecides
For more than 70 years, the Population Council has transformed global thinking on critical sexual and reproductive health issues through social science, public health, and biomedical research. We tackle intersecting inequalities that undermine rights and access to contraception, HIV and STI prevention, maternal and newborn health, safe abortion, prevention and treatment of infertility, and sexuality education. Our research and partnerships ensure high quality, evidence-based, voluntary, and rights-based comprehensive care for sexual and reproductive health.
Center for Biomedical Research (CBR)
The Center for Biomedical Research (CBR) develops and ensures access to new and affordable products that promote sexual and reproductive health, rights, and choices for people in low- and middle-income countries. More than 170 million people worldwide use contraceptive products developed by CBR or based on our technologies. CBR is the leading pioneer in the modern field of long-acting, reversible contraception. CBR also sponsored the clinical trials for Mifepristone® in the United States and secured approval of the product by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2000.

These large-scale surveys on violence against children and adolescents, unsafe abortion, and unintended pregnancy draw upon existing robust, well-regarded, and well-known global tools.
